Secretary of HCMC Party’s Committee receives Speaker of National Assembly of Korea - Website Ho Chi Minh City
On March 20, Secretary of HCMC Party’s Committee, Mr. Le Thanh Hai had a meeting with a high-profile delegation of National Assembly of the Republic of Korea led by Speaker Chung Ui-Hwa.
Mr. Le Thanh Hai expressed his delight to receive Mr. Chung Ui-Hwa and the delegation, saying that he believed that the visit will further promote good co-operation relations between Vietnam and Korea. Vietnam and Korea has upgraded relations to strategic partnership, both sides signed MoU on concluding negotiations on Vietnam-Korea free trade at the end of 2014, this has opened many opportunities for both sides to deepen bilateral relations.
In HCMC, Korea is one of the largest foreign investors in Vietnam. HCMC and Busan (Korea) have established co-operation relations for 20 years and achieved many comprehensive results. Leaders of both cities are preparing for celebration of 20th anniversary of co-operation relations – a relation based on trust and mutual understanding.
Speaker Chung Ui-Hwa expressed his impression at strong development of HCMC in the last years, he highly appreciated the role of HCMC in the whole country, Mr. Chung Ui-Hwa said that this is a good opportunity to further promote multi-faceted co-operation between Korea and HCMC in the time ahead, especially fields that both sides are showing interest.
