The most outstanding young people in the campaign of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example were honoured at a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on May 19.
The ceremony was part of a two-day youth congress that is bringing together 336 delegates nationwide, who are role models in the campaign initiated by the Party Politburo.
By hounouring these young faces, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee hoped to help the campaign spread further in society.
After the ceremony, participating youths joined a tree-planting activity at the HCM City history – culture park in District 9.
Lasting until May 20, the congress features tours around local cultural-historical sites, industrial parks and high-tech agricultural parks, and meetings with local youths who are good at doing business.
The 10th-tenure Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam issued Directive 06 in 2006 to launch the campaign of studying Ho Chi Minh ideology and following the late President’s moral example, and the 11th-tenure issued Directive 03 in 2011 to push the movement a step further.
