On January 1, at Tan Son Nhat Airport, HCMC Department of Tourism organized a ceremony of “welcoming the first international visitors to HCMC in 2015). More than 1000 international visitors were warmly welcomed a the first day of New Year 2015.
In the bustling atmosphere of New Year, international were deeply touched by receiving warm welcome from Vietnamese friends.
At the ceremony, Mrs. Van Thi Bach Tuyet, Director of HCMC Department of Tourism said the welcoming ceremony of international visitors is the closing program of a series of year end 2014 festivals, opening many welcoming events of big festivals in 2015 co-organized by HCMD Department Tourism, HCMC Travel Association and Vietnam Airlines Company. The ceremony is a significant one, presenting hospitality, excitement and respect of people of HCMC to international visitors in the New Year.
Tourism sector is the key one bringing big value for HCMC – the most dynamic economy of the whole country. In 2014, HCMC Tourism received more than 4,4 million international visitors with a turnover of VND 86,000 billion. It is expected to receive 4,8 million international visitors in 2015.
