Vietnamese goods fair opens in northwest Cambodia
Over 60 Vietnamese businesses with 120 stalls and hundreds of products took part in Ho Chi Minh City Expo 2015 which was opened in Battambang, Cambodia last night by the city Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC).
Well-known brand names such as Kinh Do confectionery, Vissan food, Duy Tan plastic, Vinh Hung plastic, Gia Dinh clothes, and Saigon Cosmetic were purchased in large volume.
Fertilizer and pesticide stalls also attracted a lot of customers because Battambang is one of four agricultural provinces in the northwest of Cambodia.
The Southern Fertilizer Corporation’s export turnover to the country reached US$4 million last year. Average export growth rate to this
market touched 15 percent a year, said deputy head of the company’s market department Nguyen Ngoc Khai.

Deputy Chairwoman of the HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong said that businesses should keep their goods quality good with diversified designs and quickly develop distribution networks in Cambodia where the number local people advocating Vietnamese goods has more and more increased.
ITPC Director Pho Nam Phuong said that the center would organize larger scale fairs and boost trade promotion to connect Vietnamese
businesses with residents in the northwest of Cambodia in the time ahead.
