(HCM CityWeb)- August 28, , on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of National Day of Vietnam and the 43th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and India, Indian Consulate General and the War Remnants Museum launched the Vietnam India Exhibition: for peace and development.
Some 73 documentary photos and 160 publications were displayed to feature the friendly relations between Vietnam and India. Some of the publications were published in India mentioning Uncle Ho and Vietnam, some articles reporting State’s high-profile visits of President Ho Chi Minh to India in 1958, paintings of children on Vietnam-India Friendship, etc. The Vietnam-India Exhibition is a message for Vietnamese people to deeply understand about the close relations between both countries in the war time as well as in the peaceful period in Vietnam. It has a special significance in the history of Vietnam – India diplomatic and friendship relations in over 40 years.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem stressed that Vietnam-India relations has been strongly developed the past 40 years. In the whole process of struggling and protecting the country, Vietnam always respects the support of Indian people, Vietnam always believe in good relations between Vietnam and India in fields of politics, economy, trade, culture, security and defense, etc. He added the exhibition not only marks a closely cultural co-operation but also tightens friendship relations between both countries.
Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Preeti Saran shared: Vietnam and India has a unique relation with close links in culture, economy, the relation between Indian and Vietnamese people were established in the second century AD. Traces of friendly interaction between both countries can be found now in Vietnam. Today, Vietnam and India are now enjoying strategic partnership in many fields. Mrs. Preeti Sara expressed her hope that the young generations of both countries will continue to promote the friendship relation between Vietnam and India.
The Vietnam-India Exhibition will last till October 30.
