On April 7, Russian Prime Minister Medvedev chaired Vietnam-Russia Business hosted in Nikko Saigon Hotel, HCMC. Attending the forum include Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Manh Ha and representatives of over 100 Russian and Vietnamese enterprises.
Addressing at the forum, Mr. Dmitry Medvedev said that Vietnam-Russia Business Forum is very useful, contributing to promotion of deeply developed relations between Vietnam and Russia. Mr. Dmitry Medvedev highly appreciated developing economy of Vietnam in Asia Pacific region and Southeast Asia area, saying that economic development of Vietnam is very dynamic and highly competitive. Mr. Dmitry Medvedev expressed his hope to strengthen co-operation with Vietnam in fields of economy, investment, trade, oil and gas, energy, industry and tourism, etc.
In his part, Mr. Hoang Trung Hai affirmed that the Government of Vietnam always treasures and promotes comprehensive co-operation between sectors and enterprises of Vietnam and Russia, saying that Vietnam will create favorable conditions and give priority to Russian enterprises to invest in Vietnam; encouraging Russian enterprises to invest in every economic field, especially in oil and gas, energy, mining, machinery manufacturing, education, automobile assembly, science and technology, etc.
At the forum, Vietnam and Russian enterprises participated into roundtable conference, direct dialogue to seek trade and co-operation opportunities in fields of mutual concern.
Also at the forum, representatives of Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) and Bank for foreign Trade of Russia (VTB) signed a MOU on strengthening economic co-operation between Vietnam and Russia.
