On January 08, Vice Chairwoman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Hong received the Netherlands Economics Mission and Center for the promotion of imports from developing countries (CBI)
At the meeting, Mr. Simon Van Der Burg, Consul General of the Netherlands in HCMC, presented pre-feasibility study of the project of flower and ornamental fish trading center at Binh Dien wholesale market. The purpose of this center is to build a supply chain of flowers for farmers, linking market and becoming the largest flower center of the area.
Mr. Gijs Kok, Corporate Affairs Manager of Flora Holland (the Netherlands) added that Flora Holland has carefully considered this model, affirmed that it is very suitable for Vietnam and hoped HCMC will co-operate with functional organs of Lam Dong province to establish supply chains of high quality flowers for HCMC market.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong highly appreciated the study of the project and affirmed that this will be an important foundation for the next steps. Mrs. Hong suggested that the Netherlands continues to discuss, co-operate with Saigon Trading Group (Satra) to proceed the project. Mrs. Hong requested HCMC Department of Commerce and Industry, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to work with functional organs of Lam Dong province to complete the project on time.
