On the afternoon of September 12, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen received a delegation from Lyon City (France) led by member of Lyon City Council Max Vincent.
At the reception, Mr. Max Vincent expressed his delight at visiting HCMC, highly valued the importance of cooperation between HCMC and Lyon. Both sides have maintained cooperation relations for many years and achieved good results in many fields such as lighting, heritage preservation, urban management, etc.
He added Lyon and HCMC are focusing on 5 targets including economic growth, smart city, sustainable urban development, construction of urban areas worth of living, good urban management. To achieve the above targets, both sides need to strengthen cooperation in many fields including economic and investment cooperation to improve living quality of local people.
For his part, Mr. Tran Vinh Tuyen expressed his delight at the good cooperation relations between both cities, saying Lyon is one of the best living places with clean environment plus strength of sea port management, health, education, industry, etc. Therefore, HCMC hopes to study experience and to strengthen cooperation with Lyon.
Mr. Tuyen also expressed his hope that both cities will host more business connectivity programs in the coming time, working out specific and practical cooperation programs to attract more French investments in HCMC. Mr. Tuyen expressed his hope that Lyon City will create favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors to expand their investment activities in Lyon.
