At the meeting, Mr. Phong said HCMC is planning to build it into a civilized-modern-sentimental city with better quality living. He emphasized the scheme of making HCMC a smart city including a comprehensive research, specific roadmap and other important issues of a smart city like transport, health, e-government to ensure social security.

Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong added the city is implementing the project of applying IT and expressed his hope to study experience from US. He affirmed the huge cooperation potential in constructing smart city between US and HCMC, saying the city is willing to cooperate and support US investors to participate into the construction of a smart city.

For her part, US Consul General Mary Tarnowka said US businesses attending the meeting today are large firms with years of experience and expertise in construction of smart city in USA and other countries around the world. Through the meeting, US businesses hope to study cooperation mechanism in building a smart city, applying many modern solutions in many fields to basically solve related issues of a smart city.
