At the meeting, Mr. William Weidner said many US investors want to seek investment and cooperation opportunities in HCMC after the signing of TPP. Some big firms are showing interest in Thu Thiem New Urban Area, most have years of experience in construction of entertainment areas around the world. Implementation of projects in Thu Thiem new urban area will attract more foreign investment projects from large financial firms in the world. This will help the city become a regional financial center and link international entrepreneurs with those in Vietnam

Highly valued the visit of US delegation to HCMC, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong said the National Assembly of Vietnam is working towards ratification of TPP, once completed, TPP will open many opportunities for Vietnam – US to further strengthen cooperation in the coming time.
 
With impacts of TPP, Mr. Phong expressed his hope HCMC will receive a new wave of US investors. It is a target of HCMC to become a regional economic center, therefore, authority of the city is paying a special attention to domestic and foreign investment because it contributes to economic development of the city.

Regarding to projects at Thu Thiem new urban area, Mr. Phong welcomed ideas of US investors and believed that US investors will soon carry out their projects here. Mr. Phong assigned functional organs the job of working with US partners to specify detail contents of project for project implementation quickly.
