A traditional boat race took place on Nhieu Loc-Thi Nghe canal on December 28, with 388 participants of 19 race teams from Kien Giang, Ben Tre, Binh Thuan, Binh Duong, Dong Thap, An Giang, Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam- Japan Friendly Association.
The race has been held annually since its first launch in 2012 on the cross- city canal, aiming to call people to keep the city’s green and clean environment, particularly fresh environment for city’s canal systems, said Vice director of Department of Culture and Sports Mai Ba Hung.
After finishing race rounds, Kien Giang team excellently won the first prize and Dong Thap team was the second winner in category of women’s boat race.
In the category of men’s boat race, the first prize went to Binh Thuan team, and the second prize belonged to Kien Giang team.
