The conference aims to create opportunities for HCMC’s businesses to seek partners, to introduce products, to connect business opportunities, to expand market, to open representative office in Russia, to build agent network, to effectively take advantage of Vietnam and the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union free trade zone deal signed on May 30 2015.

Total 50 Vietnamese businesses in fields of pharmaceutical, construction material, industry, tourism service, restaurant-hotel, financial service, etc, has worked with Russian partners to study Russian market and the consumption trend of Russian consumers. At the exhibition, Vietnamese booth are divided into 5 groups displaying typical products, delivering brochures and CDs to Russian partners

The delegation has made a survey on competitiveness of Vietnamese products at trade centers, supermarkets in Russia. According to Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russia is a big market and a traditional partner of Vietnam.

On September 16, the delegation has joined HCMC’s tourism connectivity seminar in Russia. The seminar was co-organized by HCMC People’s Committee, Vietnamese Embassy in Russia and Vietnam National Administration of Tourism. 

The seminar attracted 200 Russian and Vietnamese companies. It is one of the official activities of the 21th International Russian Travel Market Otdykh Leisure held in Moscow.

Addressing at the seminar, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hong said tourism is one of the key sectors, making significant contributions to the common development of HCMC. In 2014, HCMC received 4, 4 million international visitors. It is expected to receive 4, 8 million in 2015. On the basis of comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Russia, HCMC is one of the leading destinations of the whole country to implement co-operation activities with Russia. In term of tourism, Russia is defined as a key and potential market, one of 10 countries and territories in term of tourists visiting HCMC.
