In the morning of March 17, The Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee-HCMC organized a business meeting themed “towards fast and sustainable development by breakthrough mechanisms”. Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan and Chairman of HCMC People’s Comittee co-chaired the meeting.
The meeting aims to effectively implement tasks and solutions to attract investment in industrial and commercial development; implementing special policies in accordance with Resolution 54 of the National Assembly piloting special policies to bolster increased growth of the city; improving economic competitivness; strengthening administrative procedure reform; creating an open, transparent and attractive investment environment.
The meeting is a forum for enterprises to present their ideas and proposals to improve business environment. It is an opportunity for the city’s leaders to remove difficulties for businesses, to support and to improve competitiveness of businesses in the context of 4.0 industrial revolution and the global economy.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Nhan said in the 2-year plan on carrying out its tasks of the Party Congress of the the city, HCMC’s economic growth increased by 8,15% with a contribution of 27-28% to the State’s budget y-o-y, the city’s investment and business environment has been much improved with total FDI registered capital of more than US$ 10 billion in 2016-2017
According to Mr. Nhan, 2018 is the first year of implementing Resolution 54 of the National Assembly piloting special policies to bolster the growth of the city. HCMC has authorized relavant departments and agencies, districts, chairmen of People’s Committees of Districts to carry out some specific tasks to renew mechanisms and to use all resources effectively.
In 2018, regarding to the project of “smart urban area” in the period of 2017-2020 and vision to 2025, the city will urgently implement 04 solutions: center used for simulation to forecast socio-economic strategty, center of information security, center shared database and open database eco-system and joint-operating center. This wil be a platform for the city to pursue 04 targets of smart urban area including fairly high economic growth, sustainable development; well-develope services, good living environment, good health -educational-infrastructure systems; good public services for local citizens, participation of local citizens and social orgainzations into mangement and monitoring activities.
