On August 1, HCMC People’s Committee organized a conference to announce the Resolution 80/NQ-CP dated June 19 2018 of the Prime Minister on adjusting land use planning till 2020 and the plan on land use in the period of 2016-2020. The conference also hands over the list of land use projects to Department of Natural Resources and Environment and 24 districts of the city. Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong chaired the conference.
In a report, Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang, Director of Department of Natural Resources and Environment of HCMC said the plan on adjusting land use till 2020 of the city has been well-prepared and practical based on national land use planning approved by National Assembly and Prime Minister.
According to national targets, 31, 677 hectares of land are allocated for infrastructure development, this has been adjusted to 34, 921 hectares by 2020. Total of non-agricultural land is 117, 810 ha and adjusted to 188, 890 ha by 2020. 33, 292 ha of protective forest has been adjusted to 33, 901 by 2020. Other lands remain intact including 24, 060 ha of housing land, 3,000 has of rice cultivation, etc.
Especially, the Resolution 80 also allows to change 26, 246 hectares of agricultural land to non-agricultural land including rice paddy land, annual crop land, land for perennial trees, forest land and aquaculture land in the final phase of 2016-2020).
