On March 24, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received Mrs. Papimon Suwannapongse, Thai Consul General in HCM in a visit to bid farewell to HCMC.
At the reception, Mr. Phong highly valued efforts of Mrs. Papimon Suwannapongse in her tenure in HCMC, saying that she has gained many outstanding achievements in fields of trade, culture, education contributing to the improvement of Vietnam-Thailand relations.
Expressing his delight that Mrs. Papimon Suwannapongse will continue to work as Thai Am-bassador to Vietnam, Mr. Phong hoped that she will continue to promote many cultural ex-changing programs, trade and education co-operation activities between HCMC with localities of Thailand in the coming time.
In her part, Mrs. Papimon Suwannapongse said she has a deep attachment with HCMC. She thanked leaders of HCMC for creating favorable conditions for her to excellently com-plete her tenure in the city.
Announcing with leaders of HCMC about the launch of Thai fishing village on March 23, she said: “This is a part of cooperation programs of culture and education between peoples of both countries with participation of Thai Minister of Tourism and Sports. The minister also hopes to study experience of HCMC in management of museum.
Mrs. Papimon Suwannapongse affirmed she will continue to make efforts to make more practical contributions to the well-established friendship and co-operation relation between both countries.
On this occasion, Mr. Phong has awarded the HCM badge to Mrs. Papimon Suwan-napongse in recognition of her contributions to the development of the city.
