On May 3, HCMC Investment & Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) organized a press conference on trade-service-tourism exhibitions in Cambodia and Myanmar. This is an opportunity for local enterprises to penetrate, expand and establish distribution channels in Cambodia and Myanmar. These are the two key trade promotion markets of Vietnam in ASEAN in 2015.

Mr. Ho Xuan Lam, Deputy Director of ITPC revealed that the exhibition will be taken place at Tatmadaw Hall, Yangon city, Myanmar from May 20 to May 24. 80 Vietnamese enterprises with 100 booths will showcase their products in groups: processed food, plastic, household appliances, electrical appliances, cosmetics, textile, footwear, interior decoration.

At the exhibition, ITPC will strengthen business to business connectivity and support enterprises to expand their export markets. HCMC will also support 50% of funding for enterprises to join the exhibition. Mrs. Pho Nam Phuong, Director of ITPC said that people of Myanmar likes Vietnamese made products so much but Vietnamese products in Myanmar are still limited due to expensive transport cost.

In the framework of the exhibition, many seminars and trade connectivity activities will be organized. On May 23 & 24, Vietnamese enterprises will conduct survey at wholesale night markets; pay a visit to Mandalay hi-tech industrial park and some production factories in Mandalay.

Myanmar is one of the key markets of Vietnamese enterprises in fields of fertilizer, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, construction material, etc. According to enterprises, Vietnamese enterprises have been facing severe competition with those from Thailand and China, so they should not give priority to quick profits but long-term investment.
