At the reception, Mr. Phong expressed his delight at recieving Mr. Augusto Morelli and highly appreciated his visit to the city to carry out initiatives of Vietnam-Peru cooperation.

With lots of similarities such as diversified cuisine culture, famous landscapes, Mr. Phong expressed his hope that Peru and HCMC will strengthen coopeation in tourism development, share experience in cultural preservation in the future. At the same time, both countries will strengthen trade promotion activities to expand trade exchanges of both countries as well as that of South American market.

Mr. Phong said, as Peruvian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Augusto Morelli will play the role of promoting cooperation and development relations between Peru and Vietnam, including HCMC, saying the city welcomes investors of Peru to study and seek investment opporunities in HCMC in fields of agriculture, textle-garment, consumer products, infrastructure, etc.

At the meeting, Mr. Phong stressed that HCMC is willing to create the favorable conditions for Peruvian Embassy to implement cooperation programs, especially “the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-Peru diplomatic relations” in the coming time.

For his part, Mr. Augusto Morelli thanked HCMC’s leaders for their warm welcome, expressing his special attention to Vietnam-Peru trade promotion activities in the context of well-established cooperation relations of both countries.

According to Mr. Augusto Morelli, HCMC and Peru have many cultural similarities, both face challenges of rapid polulation growth, infrastructure weak and share the same vision in the future. As of his role, Mr. Augusto Morelli said he will encourage Peruvian investors to seek cooperation opportunities in HCMC in fields of tourism, infrastructure, hi-tech industry, etc. to further promote comprehensive cooperation relations between Vietnam and Peru.
