In a report, Director of HCMC Department of Health Nguyen Tan Binh said a total of 10 private health care establishments till 2016 have been granted the rights of self-control of frequent operation expenses, 72 healthcare establishments granted self-control rights of partial operation expenses. This model creates favorable conditions for hospitals to recruit high quality human resource, to invest machinery and equipment, expand and improve quality of various services, increase income of health care employees, create favorable conditions for cooperation with private healthcare establishments, borrow investment capital to build new health care establishments under models of self-control of frequent expenses and investment costs.

At the working session, Secretary Dinh La Thang welcomed HCMC Department of Health’s targets on health care development and construction of HCMC with better living quality, especially in fields of self-control of finance, improvement of medical diagnosis and treatment quality. Mr. Thang expressed his hope to expand the model of self-control of finance to hospitals to provide the best medical services to local people, reducing bed-sharing situation, increasing satisfaction rate of patients on medical diagnosis and treatment services. Mr. Thang requested HCMC Department of Health to focus on reducing overloading situation of hospitals, improving quality medical diagnosis and treatment services.
