In a speech, Laos Consul General Som Xay Sanamoune on behalf of the Party, State and People of Lao expressed his sincere thanks to the Party, State and People of Vietnam for its wholehearted assistance, thanked HCMC for its assistance in the process of 40 years of development and construction of Lao.

The multi-faceted co-operation relationship between both countries has been well developed. Currently Vietnam is the third largest foreign investor in Lao with 440 projects worth US$5, 2 billion, of which HCMC has 40 projects valued at US$ 400 million, Mr. Som Xay Sanamoune affirmed that he will do his best to make a linking bridge to strengthen friendship and co-operation between Lao and Vietnam in the coming time.


On behalf of authority and people of HCMC, Chairman Le Hoang Quan sent his best wishes to Laos Consul General and his wife, all employees of Laos Consulate General, all Laos people who are living and studying in HCMC.

According to Mr. Le Hoang Quan, the traditional friendship and comprehensive co-operation relationship between Lao and Vietnam was built by President Ho Chi Minh and President Cayson Phomvihan, succeeding generations of leaders of both countries have constantly nurtured and deepened this good relation. Both Lao and Vietnam always attach importance to this good traditional relationship and determine to expand the comprehensive co-operation following great policies laid out by both countries.

Mr. Quan affirmed HCMC is always respecting and maintaining the special friendship and co-operation relation with localities of Lao, the multidisciplinary co-operation between HCMC with localities of Lao including Vientiane capital and Champasak province have been continuously strengthened and shown effectively.

Mr. Quan stressed HCMC will do its best to nurture the Vietnam-Lao relation, especially between HCMC and localities of Lao to bring practical benefits for both peoples.
