At the reception, Mrs. Catherine Wong Siow Ping highly valued the well-developed cooperation relation between Singapore and Vietnam since both sides upgraded their relation to strategic partnership in 2013. Singapore now ranks 3rd out of foreign countries investing in Vietnam and 1st in HCMC.

According to Mrs. Catherine Wong Siow Ping, Singaporean investors highly values investment environment in HCMC with huge cooperation potential, saying that Singaporean investors always consider HCMC as a long-term investment destination. She added that Singaporean investors now want to strengthen cooperation in fields of urban development, education and health. She noted that Singapore is ready for investing typical projects in the city as well as cooperating with the city to build a smart city.
For his part, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong affirmed that Vietnam-Singapore cooperation and friendship relation including HCMC have been strengthened in many fields. Singapore has now 843 projects in HCMC with total investment capital of US$ 9, 57 billion.

Talking about investment attraction policies and development orientation of HCMC, Mr. Phong said the city is always creating favorable conditions with open mechanisms for foreign investors. The city is willing to strengthen cooperation with Singapore in fields of trade and investment.
