Mr. Le Thanh Hai expressed his delight to receive Mr. Theodore G.Osius at the time Vietnam and US relationship is deeply developed. Mr. Hai said there are more and more US direct or indirect investment projects coming to Vietnam with growing investment capital. At the same time, there is a growing number of US tourists to HCMC. US citizens account for a large percentage of international visitors to HCMC.

Mr. Theodore G. Osius said that Vietnam-US relationship is deeply strengthened in the context that both countries are preparing to become members of Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and  celebrating 20 years of establishment of diplomatic ties. The new US ambassador affirmed that in his term in Vietnam he will make efforts in improving and further strengthening Vietnam-US relationship, making US the No1 trade and economic partner of Vietnam.
