On April 14, Secretary of HCMC Party Committee Le Thanh Hai received Mr. Yoichi Miyamoto, Chairman of Shimizu Corporation (Japan) on a working trip to HCMC to report the progress of Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro line No 1.
At the meeting, Mr. Yoichi Miyamoto said that the A1 package of the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro line No1 is completed and other packages are under construction. He hoped to continuously receive support of HCMC authority to finish the projects on time.
Mr. Le Thanh Hai said that Vietnam – Japan relations has now reached to a new height. This is reflected by a series of projects implemented in HCMC with assistance from Japan including East –West Highway, Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien Metro line No 1. Mr. Hai highly appreciated efforts of Shimizu Corporation, believed that the projects carried out by Shimizu Corp will always ensure the progress, labor safety and quality. He noted that the workload is very big, but he hoped the project will be completed before 2020, so people of HCMC soon use the first Metro line of Vietnam.
Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien Metro line No 1 is 19, 7 km long (2,6km underground section), crossing District 1, Binh Thanh District, District 2, Thu DucDistrict and District 9 and running through Di An District, Binh Duong province.
