At the construction site, Mr. Nhan listened to a report of the investor about the progress of the project. The project aims to control flooding due to high tide and to actively cope with climate change in an area of 570km2 for 6, 5 million people alongside Saigon River and the city’s center; regulating water level of canals to improve drainage capacity and to store rain water in case of low tide as well as control river bank erosion.
 
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nhan highly valued Trung Nam Investment and Construction JSC (project’s investor) and related districts for their ceaseless efforts in implementing the project (Phase 1). According to Mr. Nhan, the large-scale project is very significant for the city, despite short time of construction, he requested the investor to ensure the progress and quality of the project, saying project quality is top priority. He also requested districts to closely coordinate with related units to do a good job in land clearance and compensation.
