On May 24, the last day of the working business trip of HCMC’s delegation to Israel, Secretary of HCMC Party Committee has held talks with Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.
At the meeting, President Reuven Rivlin said on his visit to Vietnam dated March 2017, he was impressed by fast growth of Vietnam. He has witnessed may achievements of Vietnam in fields of education-training, agriculture and tourism. Also on this visit, Mr. Reuvin Rivlin came to HCMC, saying that he was impressive with the city’s managment and the coherence between the city’s authorities with local citizens as well as its special attention to the development of private economic sectors. “Vietnam, the country and the people are wonderful”, said President Reuven Rivlin.
Thanking Israeli President for his warmly welcome, Secretary Nhan expressed his admiration of the country and people of Israel. Mr. Nhan said, 2018 marked the 25th anniversary of Vietnam-Israel diplomatic relations (1993-2018). In the last 25 years, both countries’ relations have strongly developed with many documents signed in fields of agriculture, trade, finance, defense, etc.
He expressed his hope that President Reuven Rivlin continues to support and to strengthen cooperation between Vietnam and Israel, including HCMC in fields of both sides’ strengths and interests. Mr. Nhan said that it is expected both countries will soon conclude the negotiations of Vietnam-Israel free trade agreement. The deal will help boost two way trade between both countries to US$ 3 billion in the coming years.
To HCMC, apart from the success of hi-tech agricultural projects including dairy farming project in Cu Chi District, both sides need to expand cooperation rlations to other fields of Israel’s strengths like IT, chemical, water management, telecommunications, human resource, tourism, etc.
Secretary Nhan expressed his hope that leaders and experts of Israel will support and share their experience with HCMC in field of smart city, promoting cooperation in technology transfer and models of hi-tech application, building innovative startup business incubation, training high quality human resource.
