According to the report of District 4, in the first 8 months of 2016, District 4’s economic growth maintains stable. Industrial – small industrial production values reached 67, 39% of the plan, up 12, 8% compared to the same period of last year. A total of 555 enterprises and 368 individual business establishments were founded with investment capital of VND 666. Currently, there are 3,464 enterprises and 4,535 individual business establishments operating in District 4.

Implementation of sustainable poverty reduction program, District 4 has fully implemented polices and social benefits for people under the State’s preferential policies, poor and near-poor households. There are still 5, 5 % of poor households in District 4.

Till end of 2016, District 4 will focus on synchronously carrying out socio-economic development measures, urban renovation, renewal of old apartment buildings, etc. implementing social security policies and sustainable poverty reduction programs, strengthening anti-crime programs and ensuring social order and security, etc.

Addressing at the working session, Secretary Dinh La Thang praised achievements of District 4. He requested District 4 to focus on taking care of lives of poor and near poor households, dealing with the status of residents living alongside canals, defining its advantages and limitations to adjust its development plans, promoting its role and location to attract small and medium-sized enterprises in hi-tech industries, constructing cultural quarters, sports centers to fully develop the material and spiritual livings of local people.
