At the reception, Secretary Dinh La Thang affirmed that Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership including with HCMC has been well-developed, especially after the visit of Vietnam General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to US in July 2015 and the visit of US President Barack Obama to Vietnam in June 2016.

Mr. Dinh La Thang said leaders of HCMC always create the best conditions under Vietnamese laws for US investors, he expressed his hope that Mrs. Mary Etta Tarnowka as new US Consul General in HCMC will make US the No 1 investor in Vietnam.

Mr. Thang expressed his hope that Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) will be soon ratified by US Congress and Fulbright University will be soon put into operation. These will help bring US and Vietnam closer.
