On December 14, Investment & Trade Promotion Center of HCMC (ITPC) coordinated with Japanese Business Association of HCMC (JBAH) to organize a roundtable conference between HCMC’s leaders with Japanese business community. Permanent Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem and Acting Japanese Consul General in HCMC Yakabe Yoshinori.
 
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Thanh Liem emphasized that the conference is one of the annual activities to realize the policy of administrative reform, to improve investment environment, to create favorable conditions for foreign investors, including Japanese ones.
Mr. Le Thanh Liem said Japan is now the city’s third largest exporting market and the 6th largest foreign investor out of 79 countries and territories investing in HCMC. He added that the figure is very impressive but still not matched with both side’s potential. He also expressed his belief that the city’s ongoing efforts in improving its investment environment will help strengthen HCMC-Japan economic relation and attract more Japanese investors coming and doing business in the city.

Mr. Liem affirmed that the city’s authorities always welcome, listen and share difficulties as well as respects for contributing opinions of Japanese businesses, all for benefits of business community and common development of the city. Mr. Liem expressed his hope to listen to frank and open opinions of Japanese businesses, both sides will remove difficulties and obstacles to make HCMC an ideal destination for Japanese businesses.
