The City People's Committee has proposed the Ministry of Public Security to approve of establishment of six Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Departments in District 5, District 10, Phu Nhuan District, Tan Binh District, Thu Duc District and Hoc Mon District; at the same time, approve of the policy on deploying the establishment of fire fighting and rescue teams according to the planning and routes in the approved project; firstly, approve of the establishment of the Hoc Mon Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department, Phu Nhuan Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department and Tan Binh Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department.

At present, there are 18 out of 24 districts in the City have set up the fire prevention and fighting police department.
