On June 14, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Thanh Phong recieved outgoing Polish Ambassador to Vietnam Barbara Szymanowska after completing her posting in Vietnam.
At the meeting, Mr. Phong highly appreciated the role of Mrs. Barbara Szymanowska in promoting Vietnam-Poland cooperation relations, saying that Vietnam-Poland friendship relaitons have been well-developed in may fields. Two way trade between Vietnam and Poland reaches US$ 1billlion, including US$ 167 million with HCMC.
Mr. Phong said that the State visit of Polish President to Vietnam at the end of 2017 and the launch of office of Polish Trade and Investment Agency in HCMC are important premises for further promoting both countries’ cooperation relations, including between Poland and HCMC. He added that her successor will further uphold the achieved good results and continue to strengthen Vietnam-Poland cooperation, including with HCMC, in fields of economy, investment, trade, culture, tourism, logisitics, science-technology.
Mr. Phong expressed that in her new post, Mrs. Barbara Szymanowska will give Vietnamese people in general and people of HCMC a special sentiment and love.
For her part, Mrs. Barbara Szymanowska expressed her delight at witnessing the well-development cooperation relations between both countries, expressing her belief that many cooperation programs will be implemented in the future. She affirmed that her successor will continue focusing on strengthening Poland-Vietnam cooperation relations in general and between both sides’ localities in particular.
Mrs. Barbara Szymanowska expressed her hope that the city’s leades will pay a visit to Poland in the comign time to exchange experience and discuss cooperation between HCMC and Poland’s localities.
