On April 27, 0n the occasion of 40 years of liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30 2015), General Sciences Library Of HOCHIMINH City, Ministry of Information and Communication were in collaboration with HCMC People’s Committee and Ministry Defense to organize a book fair entitled “National Reunification”.
The fair displays nearly 10,000 books and documents related to process of revolution of national liberation and national reunification with 02 titles including resistance to US imperialism, Southern liberation, national reunification and Vietnam in the process of development and integration.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Hua Ngoc Thuan said: “Through books and documents, people of HCMC will further understand about history, struggle of soldiers and people of the South and the North in the war against US, towards great spring victory 1975. The fair will contribute to process of educating and propagandizing glorious traditions, national pride and revolutionary spirit of April 30 historical day, staying firm in the process of construction and development of a civilized, modern and sentimental HCM city.
Apart from showcasing books, there are many booths from publishing houses to serve demands of visiting and buying books.
In addition, there are many reading areas and some talks, exchanges between historical witnesses who joined Ho Chi Minh campaign and readers, introducing authors, works on the subjects of resistance against US, Southern liberation and national reunification.
