On December 2, the 2015 Hi-Tech Agriculture And Food Industry Exhibition (Hi-tech Agro) was opened at Le Van Tam Park, Dist. 1, HCMC. The exhibition was co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), HCMC Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Management Board of High-Tech Agricultural Park.
The Hi-tech Agro 2015 attracted 145 exhibitors with 285 booths featuring , biotech products, plat seeds, orchids ornamental plants, flesh and processed farm products, agricultural tools, fertilizer, hi-tech models of agriculture, etc. A wide range of products including high quality agro products and food produced by high technology were displayed at the exhibition
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tat Thanh Cang – Deputy Secretary of HCMC Party’s Committee cum Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee – said HCMC has carried out a scheme of restructuring agriculture sector in the direction of shifting from wide to deep development, enhancing quality and production efficiency using high technology. In addition, the city has been implementing many demand-supply connectivity programs of agricultural products attached with market demand to improve product’s value to meet the increasing demands and to promote sustainable development. The 2015 hi-tech agro is a unique opportunity for agriculture and food industry to access scientific advances and achievements of hi-tech agriculture and food industry.
Mr. Pham Thiet Hoa – Director of ITPC stressed: “The 4th edition of hi-tech agro has made its own footprint and received good response from business community. This event is a part of connectivity and co-operation programs between HCMC and Southern provinces. The exhibition has created conditions for promoting connectivity in production – circulation of goods and to seek new markets for agricultural products, creating stable materials for processing and supplying clean-safe products, contributing to improvement of competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products in domestic and international markets on the threshold of TPP”.
The exhibition also attracted participation of 30 cities and provinces showcasing their specialized products from Ninh Thuan, Tay Ninh, Lam Dong, Soc Trang, Kien GIang, Dong Thap, Bac Lieu, Ben Tre, Dong Nai, Hai Duong, Long An, VInh Long, BInh DInh, Lang Son, Phu Yen, etc. Visitors can seek prominent products once coming to local booths at 2015 Hi-Tech Agro.
