Over 5 years of implementation of new rural development program, Nha Be district has 6/6 communes completing 19 national criteria. In the last 5 years, Nha Be has mobilized VND 2,312.9 billion from many resources, of which VND 264, 7 billion contributed by local people. The district has constructed 132 projects including 64 transport projects, 22 hydraulic projects, 14 schools, 22 cultural facilities, 5 health projects. These projects have changed the face of localities and created favorable conditions for local people to travel, study and transport their goods; promoted socio-economic development and brought excitement and satisfaction to local people.

Nha Be has transferred its agricultural structure in the direction of urban agriculture; enhance quality and economic value of agricultural products. A system of market, supermarket, trade centers has basically met the shopping demands of local people. Thanks to new production methods as well as animal and plant structures, income per capita reached VND 41, 8 million/person/year, 2, 5 fold increase. Especially, Phuoc Kien commune set the highest average income with VND 65 million/person/year.

Addressing at the ceremony, Mr. Le Thanh Liem highly valued the performances of Nha Be District and suggested Nha Be to continue enhancing the 19 national targets and creating favorable conditions for farmers to develop urban agriculture, taking a further care of training; mobilizing social resources to reduce poverty rate. At the ceremony, HCMC People’s Committee has announced and handed over the Decision of The Prime Minister recognizing Nha Be as a new rural district.
