On the occasion of 100th birthday of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh (July 1 1915-July 1 2015), on June 27, HCMC Party’s Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee – HCMC organized a photo exhibition themed: “General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh – A Firm and creative leader”. The exhibition was held in two locations including Youth Cultural House (District 1) and Nguyen Hue Street (District 1).
At Youth Cultural House, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of HCMC Party’s Committee Vo Van Thuong, Head of the Department of Propaganda and Training of the HCMC Party Committee Than Thi Thu, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Hua Ngoc Thuan, Director - Head of the standing Central Propaganda Department of HCMC attended the exhibition.
The exhibition displayed 78 photos and a placards briefing the life, revolutionary career and great contributions of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh to Southern revolution as Secretary of the Saigon-Cho Lon – Gia Dinh Special Zone Party Committee and Secretary of HCMC Party’s Committee. The exhibition highlighted his great contributions to the resistance wars against the French and the US for national liberation and unification. The exhibition also introduced some selected photos highlighting his contributions to the Doi Moi (renewal) process of HCMC and the whole nation.
The real and original name of General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh is Nguyen Van Cuc (Muoi Cuc). He was born in July 1 2015 in a civil service family in Giai Pham commune, Yen My District, Hung Yen province – a land rich in cultural, historical and traditions with high spirit of struggle against foreign invaders. Acquiring patriotic traditions, Mr. Nguyen Van Linh attended revolutionary activities early. His revolutionary life is very extremely glorious in three regions of the country. He was entrusted with many important positions by the Party. At any position, he served with dedication and great devotion for the country, people. Mr. Nguyen Van Linh has shown his talent and steadfast stuff facing with difficulties and challenges, completing his missions excellently and making great contributions to the revolutionary movements of the Party and the State.
The exhibition aims to express the boundless affection of The Party, authority and people of HCMC to Mr. Nguyen Van Linh, to honor his noble revolutionary virtues. The exhibition takes place from June 27 to July 5.
