On March 26, in HCMC, Mr. To Huy Rua, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of The Party Central Committee’s Organization Commission announced the decision of the Politburo appointing Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong - the Secretary of Ben Tre’s Party Committee and Chairman of People’s Council of Ben Tre province - as Deputy Secretary of HCMC’s Party Committee (2010-2015)
New Deputy Secretary of HCMC’s Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong was born in 1962 at Tam Phuoc Commune, Chau Thanh District, Ben Tre province. He has a PhD in development economics, high-level political theory. Before serving as new deputy secretary of HCMC’s Party Committee, he held as Secretary of HCMC Communist Youth Union; Secretary of HCMC Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee; District 2’s Party Committee Secretary;, Deputy Secretary of Ben Tre province’s Party Committee (2005-2010); Member of Central Party Committee, Secretary of Ben Tre provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Ben Tre’s People’s Council (2010-2015).
On March 25, the Politburo has decided to appoint Mr. Vo Thanh Hao – Deputy Secretary of Ben Tre provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Ben Tre People’s Committee – as Secretary of Ben Tre provincial Party Committee (2010-2015) to replace Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong.
