On March 21, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received new Japanese Consul General Kawaue Junichi on his courtesy visit to HCMC.
At the reception, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong highly appreciated Vietnam-Japan cooperation relation and thanked Japanese Government for providing ODA for many projects in HCMC. He said Japan is now ranked 6th out of 87 countries and territories investing in HCMC, many cultural and economic exchanging activities have been organized in the city.
Mr. Phong expressed his belief that Mr. Kawaue Junichi as new Japanese Consul General will play the role of an important linking bridge to further promote Vietnam-Japan cooperation relation, including HCMC.
For his part, Mr. Kawaue Junichi expressed his delight at Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership, saying the cooperation between HCMC and localities of Japan will continuously develop. Mr. Kawaue Junichi added he will try his best, as Japanese Consul General, to further foster Vietnam-Japan cooperation relation in general and HCMC-Japan in particular.
