New Indonesian Ambassador visits HCMC

(HCM CityWeb) – On May 5, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received new Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam Ibnu Hadi on a courtesy visit to HCMC.



At the meeting, Mr. Phong affirmed Vietnam-Indonesia co-operation relations have been well – developed in the past time. He expressed his hope that Vietnam-Indonesia relation in general and of Indonesia-HCMC in particular will be deeply developed in many fields of economy, culture, education, trade and tourism, etc.

In 2015, two way trade between HCMC and Indonesia reached US$ 1, 09 billion, up 40% compared to 2014; Indonesia has now 17 investment projects in HCMC worth US$ 27 million.

Mr. Phong hoped that as role of new ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Ibnu Hadi will act as a linking bridge for Indonesian enterprises to seek investment opportunities in HCMC, affirmed that the city will create the most favorable conditions for Indonesian investors when investing in HCMC.

For his part, Mr. Ibnu Hadi said Indonesian Government always attaches great importance to Vietnam-Indonesia co-operation relation. He stressed that he will continue promoting and improving, as new ambassador to Vietnam, Vietnam-Indonesia co-operation relation in fields of politics, economy, culture, people-to-people diplomacy, etc.
