On 28 October, a delegation of departments, agencies and related units led by Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Tin conducted a practical inspection on the plan of supplying clean water at Cu Chi, Hoc Mon Districts and District 12.
Speaking at the meeting after the practical inspection, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tin noted that related units need to work out synchronous solutions in the process of implementation of plan of supplying clean water. Specifically, in Cu Chi district, the distance between households to water tanks is from 80m-100m, so they need to carefully calculate how many tanks should be placed
Mr. Tin requested that health centers should coordinate with authorities at all levels (commune, hamlet) to strengthen propaganda activities at all forms to raise awareness of using clean water; explaining clearly the effects of clean water in daily life for eating and drinking not for breeding or irrigating.
“It is a long process. We need to stick to our decision. We need to strengthen propaganda activities to raise awareness of local people in the usage of clean water and the harmful effects of using unhygienic water”, said Mr. Tin.
Mr. Tin added that related units need to face a reality that it depends on specific circumstances to solve difficulties and barriers and send their specific reports to HCMC People’s Council for consideration.
