On August 17, at HCMC’s headquarter, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan received Ms Sara Valdés Bolana, new Mexican Ambassador to Vietnam.
At the meeting, Mr. Quan expressed his delight at receiving Ms. Sara Valdés Bolana, wishing her complete her job excellently to contribute to the good friendship and co-operation relations between Mexico and Vietnam. Mr. Quan said that there is a huge potential of co-operation between both countries, especially from the framework of multilateral and regional co-operation that both countries participated. He stressed that HCMC always attaches much importance to cooperation with Mexico.
Mr. Quan added, in 2014, two way trade between Mexico and Vietnam reached US$1, 4 million, of which two way trade between Mexico and HCMC reached US$ 134 million. The co-operation between Mexico and Vietnam as well as with HCMC is still modest and not matched with available potential. He believed that in her working term in Vietnam, Ms. Sara Valdés Bolano will work out specific co-operation to further promote co-operation in fields of investment-trade-science-technology-culture-tourism, etc.
In her part, Ms. Sara Valdés Bolano highly appreciated economic potential of HCMC and affirmed that Mexican government is paying more attention to Vietnam market, saying that Mexico is attaching much importance to co-operation with Vietnam and is willing to share its experience with Vietnam, not only in political, economic fields but also in education-training, science, etc.
Ms. Sara Valdés Bolano affirmed that Mexican government is encouraging Mexican companies to push up investment co-operation with Vietnam, especially in HCMC, saying that she hoped to receive enthusiastic support from HCMC authorities
