On December 20, a delegation of Party Committee-People’s Council-People’s Committee – Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee HCMC led by Secretary Dinh La Thang made a visit to Archdiocese of Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of Christmas 2016

On behalf of HCMC’s leaders, Mr. Dinh La Thang announced socio-economic development situations of Vietnam and HCMC to Archbishop Bui Van Doc, Mr. Thang highly appreciated efforts and contributions of Catholic Community, bishops, priests to the development of the city. Many patriotic emulation movements organized by Archdiocese of HCMC have gathered enormous strength to support HCMC overcome difficulties and challenges to complete its target of making HCMC a modern-civilized-sentimental city with better living quality.

With difficulties and challenges ahead in 2017, the city’s leaders always believe that bishops, priests continue encouraging and providing guidance to Catholic Community to join hands with the city’s authorities to complete its tasks and missions assigned by the resolution of the 10th Party Congress of HCMC.

Archbishop Bui Van Ngoc in his speech expressed his thanks to the city’s leaders for their special attention and assistance to activities of Archdiocese of HCMC. in the past years, many Archdioceses, Catholic Churches have organized many practical movements and programs to maintain security and order, reduce traffic accidents and protect environment, etc. join hands with the city’s authorities at all levels to take care of people’s lives and to build safe –civilized-modern residential areas.
