Master plan of hi-tech applied agricultural parks and zones till 2020, orientations to 2030

Prime Minister has recently approved the master plan of agricultural parks and zones applying hi-tech till 2020 and orientations to 2030.

The master plan aims to push up development of modern agriculture, large – scale production, high productivity, good quality, effectiveness and high competitiveness, ensuring food safety, national food and export.

Till 2020, beside hi-tech applied Hau Giang and Phu Yen agricultural zones approved by the Prime Minister, the master plan aims to build other 8 zones in Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Khanh Hoa, Lam Dong, HCMC, Binh Duong and Can Tho.

For hi-tech applied agricultural zones, coffee growing areas will concentrate in The Central Highlands, Northwest and North Central; tea growing areas will focus in Thai Nguyen; Oolong tea will be in Lam Dong; hi-tech production of dragon fruits will be in Binh Thuan; vegetables and flowers growing areas will be in Lao Cai, Hanoi, Hai Phong, HCMC, Lam Dong; fruit growing areas for export will be in the Southeast and the Mekong Delta.

While dairy farms applying hi-tech will focus in Son La, Hanoi, Nghe An and Lam Dong, pig raising farms will be in Red river delta and Southern region; poultry raising areas will be in Red river delta, Northeast, North Central and the Mekong delta.

Fisheries: shrimp raising farms (saltwater, blackish water areas) will concentrate in Red river delta, North central, South Central Coast, Southeast and the Mekong delta.

According to orientation to 2030, the plan aims to complete technical infrastructure and put into operation of at least 10 hi-tech applied agricultural parks and agricultural zones; continuing to establish hi-tech applied agricultural zones as planned; expanding scale and agricultural production objects applying hi-tech.
