Many transport projects completed on celebration of April 30

April 25, HCMC Department of Transport hosted a meeting on progress of transport projects on the occasion of 40th anniversary of liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification, serving travel demands of people in holidays.

 

 

The project of upgrading Nguyen Hue Street has a total investment capital of VND 470 billion, started construction in September 2014, has been basically completed.


The project of trial operation of automatic sprinkler system, lighting system, automatically-operated automobile stopping poles, is completing the final tasks including installation of tree grates, tree lighting system, mist-emitting system, on site cleaning up. It is expected on April 28, related units will finish the cleaning up, remove barriers and serve local people.


Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Tin said that Le Loi, Nguyen Hue, Ham Nghi and Dong Khoi Streets will be served for pedestrian.


At the moment, HCMC has constructed a square combined with pedestrian area in Nguyen Hue Street with a capacity of 5000-6000 people. From here, people can enjoy the outstanding image of Uncle Ho Monument and the building of HCMC People’s Committee at night through a modern lighting system installed by Lyon City (France). The square will be opened before April 20.


 

 

Besides, the project of upgrading sidewalks of routes at the entrance and exit of Tan Son Nhat International Airport including Tran Quoc Hoan, Truong Son and Phan Thuc Duyen is expected to be completed on April 27 with total capital of VND 115 billion.

 


The project of upgrading Luong Dinh Cua Street, section from Tran Nao to Nguyen Thi Dinh Streets (District 2) with total investment capital of VND 827 billion is being verified on design, construction cost, bid packages, etc. The project has concluded process of choosing construction consultant and supervisor. Ong Tranh Bridge is expected to construct on April 27 and completed on April 30, 2016.


The project of building a steel flyover at Go Vap Intersection with total capital of VND 403 has been started by expanding road surface at Nguyen Oanh, Nguyen Kiem Streets. As planned, construction packages on Nguyen Oanh-Nguyen Kiem Streets will be started in May 2015.
