The project includes two buildings (7 floors), 550 hospital beds, examination room area on the area of 12,504 sqm, used area of 87,524sqm. The A6 building consists of 300 beds. The center has a capacity of 200 beds.

The center has raised total number of inpatient beds to 1,200 beds from 700, ensuring enough beds for patients.

Addressing at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tan Dung praised achieved results of Thong Nhat hospital. In the last 40 years, generations of doctors, nurses, employees of the hospital have made ceaseless efforts in taking care of officials and people. In addition, the hospital has also invested in infrastructure and equipment, so it is deserved to be one of the leading hospitals in the South.

Mr. Dung noted that leaders of the hospital in the coming time need to continuously invest in upgrading equipment, improving staff’s capabilities, enhancing service quality. He emphasized that as leading hospital in the South, Thong Nhat hospital not only serves for officials and people but also trains a team of medical staffs for lower level hospitals.

Today, Thong Nhat Hospital has widely applied new medical techniques such as open heart surgery, carotid surgery, arthroscopy, etc. In the future, the hospital continues to upgrade the 40 year old center buildings; building heart – geriatrics center; investing in modern medical equipment; striving for becoming a modern medical center in HCMC.
