On September 13, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received a business delegation led by Chairman of The Federation of Korean Industries Huh Chang Soo in a visit to seek investment opportunities in HCMC.
Chairman Nguyen Thanh Phong highly appreciated fruitful results of investment cooperation of Korean investors in HCMC, saying Korea is one of the leading countries with over 1,530 projects (till July 2018) worth US$ 4.8 billion. Korea is now ranked 3/98 countries and territories investing in HCMC. More than 2.000 Korean enterprises are now operating in the city with some famous names such as Samsung, Lotte, CJ, etc.
Mr. Phong added the city always welcomes all Korea investors, especially in fields of urban infrastructure, mechanical engineering, food processing, petrochemicals, IT training, to meet requirements of Industry 4.0
Mr. Huh Chang Soo revealed that Vietnam is one of the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia, Korean investors are proud of contributing to this process. With political and social stability, a potential market and high-quality human resource, HCMC in particular and Vietnam in general is now drawing a special attention from Korean investors. Mr. Huh Chang Soo affirmed that Korean investors have capability, experience and technology enough to support Vietnam in general and HCMC in particular to timely catch the trends of Industry 4.0.
Therefore, Korean investors hopes to receive support, coordination of HCMC to speed up their projects, to ensure mutual benefits and to contribute to Vietnam’s socio-economic development.
