Korean companies to invest in supporting industry

On December 17, Board of Management of Saigon Hi-tech Park (SHTP) has granted certificates of investment valued at US$ 110 million to two Korean companies in field of supporting industries. These two projects are a part of Samsung’s supply chain.




Specifically, Platel Vina (under Intops), specializing in production and assembly of electronic components will build a US$ 80 million factory covering 40,000 square meters, the factory is expected to put into operation in December 2016 with a capacity of 6,5 million items/year.

Initially, Platel Vina will focus on producing components and spare parts for Samsung Electronics. Then, the factory will expand to other fields such as manufacture of equipment’s under model of IoT

Meanwhile, the US$ 32 million project of Daihan Climate Control covering 20,700 hectares is expected to be operational in the second half of 2016. The project has a capacity of 2 million of heat exchangers/year for Samsung Electronics.

According to Daihan Climate Control, the factory will employ 400 Vietnamese workers and train a high quality human resource to participate into the project of raw material and workforce localization in Vietnam.
