On July 31, to further attract investment from Japan into HCMC and to strengthen business connectivity between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises, Investment & Trade Promotion Center of HCMC (ITPC) organized a forum: “Vietnam-Japan Investment and Trade Promotion 2015”.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem said Japan is one of the leading partners of Vietnam in socio-economic development. Japan is now ranked 6th in foreign countries and territories investing HCMC. Some typical investors of Japan in HCMC include Nidec, Aeon, Mitsubishi, Mitsui, Toshiba, etc; many others are choosing HCMC as an ideal destination for investment.
Mr. Le Thanh Liem shared: “To continuous renew models of growth, HCMC hopes to receive co-operation and positive support from Japanese Government and business community through sharing management experience, technology transfer, ODA, the city hopes to be a top priority for investment of Japanese companies, especially in fields of infrastructure, human resource, supporting industry and hi-tech agriculture”.
Mr. Liem affirmed HCMC always welcome, accompany and create every favorable conditions for Japanese investors to seek long – term trade and investment opportunities. He expressed that HCMC is witnessing a new inflow of Japanese investors into HCMC. He believed that this forum is an opportunity for Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises to understand their demands, to promote and expand their cooperation in the future.
Mrs. Pho Nam Phuong, Director of ITPC stressed Vietnam-Japan Investment and Trade Promotion Forum 2015 will introduce potential, favorable conditions, preferential policies of HCMC, providing useful information on trade and investment environment of HCMC for Japanese companies. At the same time, with participation of 30 enterprises from Japan, 50 Japanese ones doing business in Vietnam and over 200 Vietnamese enterprises, the forum creates opportunity for both sides to approach potential partners and to promote trade between Vietnam and Japan.
At the forum ITPC organized trade-investment connectivity in 5 groups: industry (energy, chemical, electricity-electronics, mechanical, automotive, plastic, textile and garment, steel, mineral, industrial machinery, recycle, etc), agriculture-food processing industry, forwarding-transportation, construction-real estate-environment, finance-bank-insurance-human resource.
In addition, ITPC also supported local enterprises to showcase their products, services at the forum.
