In the evening of June 19, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Hoang Quan received new Italian Ambassador Cecillia Picconi when Mrs. Cecillia paid a courtesy call to HCMC.
At the meeting, Mr. Le Hoang Quan gave a brief about socio-economic situation and achievements of HCMC in the recent years. He welcomed preferential loan policies of Italian Government for small and medium-size enterprises in Vietnam. Mr. Quan suggested that Italia contacts with Associations of textile, footwear and wood furniture to establish more convenient connections, ensuring a successful approach to preferential loan program for enterprises who are in need.
Mrs. Cecilia Piccioni highly appreciates the opening of Italian Consul General in HCMC. This contributes to further promote trade co-operation in Southern Vietnam. The Ambassador introduced credit co-operation program, promoting economic development of localities such as HCMC, Binh Duong, Dong Nai. Accordingly, Italy is now carrying out preferential loan program for small and medium-sized enterprises in 3 key fields including textile, footwear and wood furniture with total capital of 15 million Euros at interest rate of 0% in a period of 24 years.
