On the afternoon of March 23, at the Unification Hall, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong received the President of the State of Israel Reuven Ruvi Rivlin on a State-level visit to Vietnam.
At the reception, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong expressed his delight at receiving the State’s high-profile delegation of Israel to the city. He highly appreciated Vietnam-Israel fruitful cooperation relation, including with HCMC, saying Vietnam and Israel have maintained exchanges of high profile delegations and signed many important cooperation deals in agriculture, trade, finance, education, etc. In HCMC alone, Israel has 11 investment projects with total investment capital of US$ 10 million. Vietnam-Israel two way trade reached US$ 1, 3 billion in 2016.
Mr. Phong also highly valued Israel’s economic achievements, especially hi-tech agriculture, expressing his hope that Israeli investors will strengthen investment cooperation in agriculture following the success of hi-tech experimental dairy farm in HCMC as well as other fields of Israeli strengths like IT, technical human resource training, tourism, etc.
Israeli President expressed his delight and honor to visit Vietnam and HCMC. He highly appreciated Vietnam’s efforts in all fields of education, health, saying Vietnam-Israel bilateral relations has been strongly developed in the past time, including Israel – HCMC relation.
After the reception, President Reuven Ruvi Rivlin and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Phong witnessed the signing ceremony of MOU on US$ 200 million financial package in the health sector between Jasmine Group (Israel) and Dat Vang Real Estate Investment Company
At the same day, President Reuven Ruvi Rivlin, his spouse and delegation paid a visit to milky cow raising farm in Pham Van Hai commune, Binh Chanh District, HCMC. The farm uses Israeli technology raising milky cows.
