At the reception, Mr. Nhan thanked IMF’support for Vietnam including HCMC. He highly appreicated the delegation’s working visit to HCMC. Talking about socio-economic development situation of HCMC, Mr. Nhan said the city is in need of capital to build urban infrastruture which private enterprises play an important role. He shared the city’s development direction including construction of HCMC into a smart city, a financial center and a creative urban area.

Mr. Nhan expressed his hope IMF support HCMC to organize seminars and research activities under froms of PPP, giving advice to construction of a financial center, sharing experience in urban development, mobilizing all resources from private sectors, enterprises and scientists, etc.

For his part, Mr. Alex Mourmouras thanked Mr. Nhan for warmly welcoming the delegaion. He affirmed IMF always attaches the importance of cooperating with Vietnam, including HCMC. He added IMF is willing to support experts and to give technical assistance to HCMC to develop a mondern traffic and urban infrastructure network. Rich experienced experts of IMF are ready for supporting HCMC in fields of priviate investment, budget managment and increase of local revenue, etc.
