The drill, the first held at night so far, takes place from 10pm until early in the morning in the downtown area, and districts 5, 7, Binh Thanh and Tan Binh.
Sen. Lieut. Col. Nguyen Sy Quang from the municipal police department said some streets in the area will be closed for the drill and called for sympathy and support from locals and tourists.
The officer said the exercise aims to improve the leadership of local authorities as well as enhancing the coordination between the police, the military and relevant sectors in addressing social disturbances.
