On February 2, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Le Thanh Liem attended 2014 summation ceremony of agriculture and rural development and assignment of 2015.

Reporting at the ceremony, Director of HCMC Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Phuoc Trung said agricultural production of HCMC continued to be transferred to the direction of urban agriculture. Although still faced with lot of difficulties such as severe weather, continuous changes of consumption markets and good prices, etc, agricultural – forestry – fishery production value of HCMC increased 5,9%, 1,8 times higher than that of last year; production value increased 6%, 1,6 times higher than that of the whole country.

Addressing at the ceremony, Mr. Le Thanh Liem highly appreciated ceaseless efforts of results of agriculture sector of HCMC in 2014. Agricultural productions remained stable, suitable with program of agricultural structure transferring to the direction of high economic values, developing new plants and animals suitable with production conditions of HCMC. Production value on 1 ha increased compared to 2013.
